A statue of an angel with a lone bee buzzing presides over the Panteón de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, or cemetery of Our Lady of Guadalupe, in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.

In November of 2023 I had the opportunity to travel to San Miguel de Allende during el Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead). It was a spectacular and colorful time to be there. One day we decided to visit the cemetery. The graves of the deceased are cleaned and filled with ofrendas (offerings) of flowers, food and drink. Swarms of bees, attracted to the sweet offerings where everywhere.
