In November of 2023 I had the amazing opportunity to spend a few days in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico over Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). Dia de los Muertos is a Mexican holiday where families welcome back the souls of their deceased relatives for a brief reunion that includes food, drink and celebration. In this photograph people are seen having their faces painted for DDLM. The act of painting your face is considered an ode to your deceased loved ones.
